https://www.gofundme.com/f/taking-back-our-freedom-convoy-2022 собрано практически 8 млн, более 100 тыс. пожертвований. Часов с 2 ночи шли пожертвования из Австралии, нашего брата-близнеца :)), UK, были почему-то из Польши, к утру снова пошла в основном Канада (процентов на 98) и кое-что из Штатов. Думаю, канадцев среди жертвователей не меньше 95%.

На фейсбуке была групповая страница конвоя, очень живая с сотнями сообщений, сегодня она исчезла - (2) Facebook

I voted liberal in the last election — rather reluctantly, granted. At previous times, I’ve also voted NDP, and Green, depending on the platform. I am highly educated, white collar, and consider myself left wing. I read The Atlantic, the Economist, New York Times, CBC etc. And I am absolutely horrified by the way the Canadian media and many voices I previously respected have taken it upon themselves to actively try to destroy the credibility or misrepresent the intentions of the people in this protest. We as the left wing wholeheartedly embraced the Black Lives Matter protests and now we are denigrating the rights of another group to protest and labelling them “fascists and racists” on the back of false narratives (see Dale Manucdoc’s inexcusable lack of journalistic integrity) and cherry-picked sources and images. You only need to read the movement’s statements and listen to the vast majority of protesters to understand this is not our “January 6”. For heaven’s sake. Stop using this as yet another fear-mongering opportunity to incite intolerance and cowardice in the Canadians who trust you. There’s plenty of science to suggest that mandates and lockdowns are not productive and are damaging to society. Why not act with journalistic integrity and actually bring these to light. We are screwing future generations over in the process and all we do is parrot this same “vaccines, mandates, lockdowns” with little evidence it’s working the way we want it to, as we see with the current wave. And yes, I’m vaccinated. Shame on you, Canadian journalists. Go truckers! I may not agree with all your policies but I support your right to express them and be treated with respect.

Перемьер-министр Трюдо с семьёй покинул своё место пребывания и скрывается под охраной полиции, полиция не раскрывает где он и почему скрывается (были ли причины и какие).
Занят насущными делами - осуждает исламофобию и расизм в твиттере в годовщину теракта в мечети города Квебека, осуждает вандализм - нанесён ущерб статуе Терри Фокса, словом, работает, не покладая рук твиттера. О встрече с тракерами хотя бы он-лайн или просто выступлении на тему речи нет, не трюдовское это дело.

У меня сложилось впечатление, что правительство просто не знает, что в этой ситуации делать - прецедента в Канаде не было; подозреваю, что попытаются просто игнорировать и ждать, когда само рассосётся. Гаверменту ещё невероятно повезло с погодой: было бы как обычно в это время -1- 3, народу собралось бы в 3-4 раза больше. А в + 4+5 - в 4-5.

Its time to get back to making Canada a country of thriving business,tourism, and using our natural resources to pay our bills on the world stage.We have been blessed with so much to get to markets...including oil and natural gas.Why hinder the transportation of these commodities that we all need to survive and thrive over a few truckers that wish to excercise their rights and not be vaccinated .This country was founded on strong minded individuals and families looking for a better life than where they came from. This drive that our predecessors had would not have sat quiet any longer than their descendants protesting today.Lets get back to work and put some time into rebuilding our economy instead of mandates for covid.
