When tragedies such as the tragic killing of George Floyd seize the public attention, we are offered an opportunity.

It's an opportunity to respond by offering real solutions and real reform that make life better for everyone, and ensure that these tragedies do not happen again.

We have a real opportunity to discuss real change.

This, unfortunately, has not happened.

Instead, we are seeing the discussion taken over by activists with radical proposals that will only make the problems we face worse.

The organization Black Lives Matter, for example, has used current public goodwill and earnest cries for justice by demanding that we “defund the police.”

Among their other demands? They want the “disruption” of the “Western-prescribed nuclear family structure.”

As I have stated in my platform, I believe that the family is a cornerstone of society. We should be working to strengthen families, not weaken them.

I am all for a robust debate on how best to make Canada a nation where everyone has the opportunity to thrive and prosper in freedom and security. But removing the foundation of what makes a healthy society is no place to start.

So, while I believe that we must fight inequality, I cannot support a group like Black Lives Matter in totality, because I strongly disagree that their proposed actions will create meaningful solutions.

There are both historic and systemic reasons why Black families in North America are suffering, including the history of slavery, destructive welfare policies, and even crime bills put forward by Bill Clinton in the 90s.

But the inequality created by the impact on Black families does not mean we should destroy all families in order to create equality.

Destroying what should be the pillars of society is never the solution.

I can’t stand for the “disruption of the Western-prescribed nuclear family structure”, just as I can’t support disbanding the police force because of the actions of a select group of corrupt officers.

Justin Trudeau for his part has responded by stating that systemic racism plagues our police forces, just like his MPs have said that Canadians are racist.

As always with our prime minister, talk is cheap: it is much easier for him to say what some want to hear and rake in sympathetic headlines than it is, for example, to finally ensure that all indigenous communities have clean drinking water.

Times like these call for real leadership with real solutions that will make the lives of real people better.

Posturing is good for photo ops, and talk is good for Twitter likes. But it is time that Canadians got something much better than that: A leader who understands the issues and seeks to address them.

I promise to strengthen the Canadian family. I welcome all reasonable ideas to help strengthen all families, including single-parent households, and their communities.

We disrupt the Western-prescribed nuclear family structure requirement by supporting each other as extended families and “villages” that collectively care for one another, especially our children, to the degree that mothers, parents, and children are comfortable.

We foster a queer‐affirming network. When we gather, we do so with the intention of freeing ourselves from the tight grip of heteronormative thinking, or rather, the belief that all in the world are heterosexual (unless s/he or they disclose otherwise).

Понятно, что мне третий абзац не по вкусу. Но disrupt the Western-prescribed nuclear family в виде collectively care for one another, especially our children, to the degree that mothers, parents, and children are comfortable. чета меня не ужасает.

Они хоронят проблему безотцовщины (я не помню цифр, ок. 80% детей в чёрной комьюнити сингл мазерс) под блаблабла.
Т.е., обычное - вместо чёткого определения проблемы и постановки задачи предлагается блабла третий путь. Обрати внимание to the degree that mothers, parents, and children are comfortable. Матери перечисленны отдельно. Кто такие parents в данном случае?

Ты же сам пишешь - 80% детей в чёрной комьюнити сингл мазерс. Именно матери. Потому совершенно оправданно говорить о матерях отдельнчми словами и абзацами. В остальных - родители, какие уж там есть. Не думаю, чтобы много было мужских черных пар с детьми.

При том культе матери, что был при совке, я уверен можно и на русском найти похожие конструкции. Где матери в поминаются первую очередь, родители как целое уже потом. Возьмем например "я помню руки матери". Скока аналогов про руки отца?

Ну, так и радуги не было. И 80% одиночек не было. Это вообще беспрецендентная ситуация - и боюсь, что долгосрочная, решить ее через восстановление полной семьи в сколь-нить разумные сроки едва ли реально.

Я у Аввы спрашивателям что предлагают центристы на всякий случай предложил, чтобы каждый член БЛМ и болельшики, хотя бы те, кто поучаствовал в протестах, коленопреклонениях и прочих проявлениях активной жизненной позиции, пошли в ближайшую школу или детсад, выбрали себе двух чёрных двоечников-троечников и занялись системным туторингом лет на 5 плюс внешкольные занятия типа спорта, музыки и пр. Учитывая количество отметившихся (а если активность в соц. сетях добавить к списку волонтёров - то тем более), эффект был бы огого. :))

они-то может и выбрали бы двух, да процесс, видишь ли, двусторонний. И желающих быть выбранными для тьюторига окажецца не по два, а дай бог по одной десятой на выбирающего. И это ж еще найити надо эту десятую вобщей куче.

А типа музыки и спорта - тут способности еще нужны, большинство народу скорее годицца в объекты.


Так что... увы.

Кто маленьких детей спрашивает? Их заставляют разными способами. Не знаю как ты, а я класса до 5 школьные уроки учил потому что родители за плохие оценки ругались. :))

В удовольствие обычно начинают учиться лет с 11-12, а с полной отдачей - в 15-16.

Музыка-спорт-пр. просто дисциплинируют, это не для Олимпийских игр.

Проще говоря, нужны взрослые, которые этими детьми будут заниматься. И это не учитель в школе, один на 20-30 голов.

Заставлять можно если есть заставляющие кнопки. Да и то приходицца пыхтеть по полжизни нар заставляемое рыльце. А если ты придешь весь такой заставлящий в школу и попробуешь - в свободное от всего остального время - позаставлять случайную парочку... Ну, не знаю, не знаю... может если кто гений педагогики и боевых искусств в одном флаконе.. может быть... хотя даже в кино это тока фулл-тайм - или учитель или бодигард.

Как выросший без отца, рискну предсказать, что проблемы с желающими не будет. Как помню - любой объект мужского пола, что с тобой взаимодействует, совершенно подсознательно оценивается на предмет не записать ли его в role models и не так уж много и надо, чтобы таки записать. Умный, спокойный и веселый - годится. После чего к тебе приходит не неизвестный хрен с горы, а твоя role model. Подозреваю, что будет наоборот - не отбиться. Особенно таки годящимся в.
